Reflection - Commercial About Me

Image
Hey Bloggers. I finally finished my commercial and now I can talk about the process from start to finish. I used a lot of easy-to-access technology. I already had videos on my phone, so to make it easier on myself I used an editing software on my phone. This software is CapCut. CapCut is one of the best editing softwares out there right now, especially because it's free. I used my phone for 90% of this commercial. The other 10% consisted of my computer. The only thing I used my computer for was to embed the YouTube video of my commercial into Blogger. I learned a lot during this process of putting a project together. I learned how to manage my time properly to fit a schedule. Even though I already knew how to edit using CapCut, I still learned a couple things. For example, up until now, I didn't know I could adjust how the video looked (brightness, contrast, etc). I also didn't know I could add animations to captions. The last thing I learned was how to embed a YouTube vid

Production Blog - Finishing Up

Hey Bloggers! This is the home stretch for my commercial about me. As you all know by now, I have been using CapCut as my main software to edit my commercial. I have made just a few changes since the last time I posted a blog. These changes aren't as big as the others, which is to be expected because I am practically done. However, I still consider them to be important as I am a perfectionist. I wanted to make sure my video was too long. And I also wanted to make sure my video wasn’t too short. I noticed that the current time I had on my videos were way too long, so I shortened them. Along with that, I also made sure the music wasn’t too loud, or too quiet. I double checked everything. Actually, no, I triple checked everything to make sure it was to my liking. I watched the video a bunch of times. I even showed my family the video just to make sure that it was good. Once I got the final approval, it was ready to be complete. I changed the name to the CapCut file to “Commerical Abo

Production Blog - Minor Touches

Image
Hey bloggers! I am almost done with my commercial about me!! Since the last blog I posted, I've made a few changes and updates. In addition to adding "fade out" and "fade in" to my videos, I almost made my captions fade out and fade in. The captions will appear at the bottom of the screen. Captions will, you guessed it, describe what I am showing the viewer. I made the captions a couple sentences long at maximum. I did this because I wanted the viewer to focus more on the video/picture. The longer I made a caption, the less time a viewer would have to grasp what they were looking at. I also made some minor adjustments to the pictures I added. For example, in my baby picture, the picture was too dark. So, in order to fix this I used CapCut. CapCut allows you to edit the depiction of both videos and pictures. For example, you can add contrast, brightness, or sharpness to a picture. So, I added some contrast and brightness, to make the quality of the picture a lit

Production Blog - Editing

Hey Bloggers! It's Marvin, and I am back with another progress check on my commercial about me! I have been making steady progress since my last blog I made. I added a number of things to my commercial. First of all, I added 'fade in' to my commercial. Basically, at the start of my video, it will appear black for about a half a second. Then, the video will smoothly appear, as the brightness of the video restores. Along with this, I also added my music. Once again, I choose the song, "Enjoy Right Now, Today", by Tyler the Creator. In order to match the fading in of my videos and pictures at the start of the commercial, I also made the song fade in. It  creates this effect as if you were 'turning up the volume' on my video. I also added transitions between the videos and pictures. I did this because, before when I just added the videos, once a video ended, it would just skip to the next. It looked very clunky and abrupt. So to fix this, I added transitions.

Production Blog - Using Capcut!

What's up, Bloggers! I am now in the production process of putting together my commercial about me! I will use Capcut, as my editing software. Capcut is a free video editing app. Capcut is available on both Android and IOS. I am using Capcut, as I am already familiar with the software. I use it to post and edit TikToks. It is really easy to use and add effects or transitions, and pretty much anything you can think about. I have my three videos. I am making them ten seconds long each. I am making them all ten seconds long each in order to leave time for my pictures. I have two pictures. The pictures will appear on the screen for 5 seconds each. They will both have transitions to lead to the videos, as they will shown first. The videos will be towards the end of the commercial. I will make sure I put captions for each video. As well as the photos. The captions will appear on the screen for the duration of each video and photo. This is all the progress I have made as of Production Blo

Research Blog - Planning for my Commercial About Me!

What’s up bloggers! Today I will be talking about the research and planning behind my commercial about me! Exciting right?  Songs-  I was really excited to add some songs that described my persona. I know I couldn’t add any explicit songs, so I turned to two artists I could depend on, Tyler the Creator and Tems. I am still contemplating on if I want to have two songs or not, as I feel that two songs in a 30 second interval would be overdoing it. However, I know for sure I will use Tyler the Creator’s “Enjoy Right Now, Today” on my commercial. It’s one of my most listened to songs on Spotify, for good reason. The vibe of the song is relaxed. It’s just one of those songs that you put on and lay down on your bed and stare at the ceiling, you get me?  Videos-  I will include a video of me doing something I love. I have a lot of videos of me bowling and getting strikes so I am using one of those videos. I will also included a video of me doing something funny. I would say I’m generally a ve

Introduction Blog - About Me!

Hello! My name is Marvin Nixon. I am in the 11th grade in high school. I am very introverted, as I rarely talk to anyone unless I am spoken to, or if I know you. I  have two older sisters who I love. Some of my hobbies consist of: playing video games, reading, and of course sleeping. I also watch anime. The GIF you see above is one of my favorite anime characters, Ichigo, from the anime Bleach. I’ve recently just got into bowling and joined a youth league. I don’t aim to professionally bowl, however I wouldn’t mind to, as long as I am making a lot of money. I got into bowling after I stopped playing football and I honestly wish I started bowling from when I was younger, it’s so much fun, and comes with many benefits such as increased mental health or increased self esteem. As you can see, I am very passionate about my hobbies, especially bowling. Whenever I have some free time, they help me relax and relieve the stress and anxiety that comes from school. I also like listening to music.
